Current TV

Current TV is a collaboration among multiple entities that provides quality informational programming through two channels, the Current TV-Government and the Current TV-Education.  It is supported by the towns of Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Manteo, as well as Dare County Government, Dare County Schools, UNC Coastal Studies Institute and College of The Albemarle.

CURRENTTV provides quality informational programming on two channels: CURRENTTV Government-Spectrum Cable channel 191 and CURRENTTV Education-Spectrum Cable channel 198.

The channels are operated by the Government Education Access Channels Committee, which is composed of a representative from each participating entity.

Current TV's operations are performed within the Dare County Administration Building in Manteo where it maintains a well-equipped production studio that serves as a place where participating entities can record programming for the two channels.

One of its best-known programs is Destination Dare, a monthly video series that is dedicated to highlighting various programs and services provided by local governments. This series is produced by Current TV in partnership with Dare County and its six municipalities, which are the towns of Manteo, Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head.
