Commercial Trash Collection

The Department of Public Works provides residential and commercial solid waste collection for all areas of Dare County with the exception of the incorporated towns of Manteo, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Duck and Southern Shores. 

Food and Lodging Inspections Program

The purpose of the Food, Lodging institutions program is to educate and protect the public's health and well being. Health Inspectors visit food and lodging establishments to enforce state and local government regulations. It is the responsibility of this unit to inform establishments about state regulations and encourage set standards in the interest of public health.

Recycling

The Department of Public Works operates numerous drop off collection centers through out the County and offers commercial pick up of materials for businesses.
