You need a Dare County Library card and a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to access many of our eResources. If you already have a library card, but not a PIN, please call your local library branch during weekday hours and our staff can set you up with a PIN.

You can easily sign up for an online library card to access our eBooks, eAudiobooks and other eResources to use from home. Apply today for an Online Digital Resources Account. 

Dare County residents and property owners of all ages can apply for an Online Access Only card from home. During weekday hours, staff will turn your application around quickly and email you your library barcode as well as your PIN (Personal Identification Number) so you can gain access to these eResources.

Curbside service at the Dare County Library's three branches is available by appointment during regular business hours.  

This is the same curbside pickup service the Dare County Library provided during the COVID-19 closure: by appointment, no contact curbside pickup of your hold requests at each library branch!

To place your requests for available materials, call your Dare County Library during business hours or use the Online Catalog anytime.

When your items are available, you will be notified by email or phone. You can then call your Dare County Library branch to schedule an appointment to pick up your items at the library using our no contact curbside pickup.

Would you like books for your child? Call your local library branch to speak with staff about making a custom Mystery Bag for your child. Dare County Library staff will ask a few questions about your child's reading level and interests and then create a Mystery Bag that will surprise your child.

The Dare County Library offers limited printing services that are available for pickup or via our curbside service.

Patrons can print in black-and-white using our printers and copy machines; whether via an email account on one of our computers, using a thumb drive or by making a copy. All printed papers and copies cost $.15 per page. We take cash and check, but no credit or debit cards. 

For those who would like their documents printed in advance and either waiting at the front desk for pickup or delivered to their vehicle curbside, you can email the library location with your documents; we will let you know when they are ready.
