MenuEMS Facility Renovations
Dare County EMS currently operates out of eight stations, which are located in:
- Kill Devil Hills
- Nags Head
- Southern Shores
- Frisco
- Rodanthe
- Manns Harbor
- Manteo
- Dare MedFlight helicopter hangar on Roanoke Island
The modernization of all of these facilities will aid in improving Dare County EMS' response to the influx of emergency calls that are received and better support the department in its ongoing efforts to meet the needs of the residents and visitors of the Dare County community.
These much-needed projects are scheduled to be completed in multiple phases. The first phase, which included the construction of three new EMS facilities—Station 1 in Kill Devil Hills, Station 4 in Southern Shores and the Dare MedFlight Hangar (Station 7) on Roanoke Island—was completed in August 2024. Phase 2, which includes the construction of a new facility for Station 8 in Manns Harbor as well as a new facility in Kitty Hawk that will become Station 9, is currently underway.

Phase Two:
With the construction of new facilities for Station 1 in Kill Devil Hills, Station 4 in Southern Shores and the Dare MedFlight Hanger (Station 7) on Roanoke Island now complete, two other EMS facilities are currently under construction: EMS Station 8 in Manns Harbor and new station in Kitty Hawk that will become EMS Station 9.
