Body Composition Measurements: 
Using methods such as percent body fat, Body Mass Index, and circumference measurements are good alternatives to just using the scale as a measure of your body composition. These measurements can help you track and quantify the success of your exercise achievements in a different way.

Fitness Assessments: 
Measure your current fitness level through various exercise assessments, discuss your fitness behaviors and goals, and also help you to create a fitness plan to meet your individual needs.

Equipment Instruction: 
If you are feeling unsure or a little Intimidated by the exercise equipment you might be interested in getting a one- on- one equipment instruction. This will involve personal demonstration and instruction on how to use each piece of equipment in the fitness center properly. This is also a time for you to get all your questions answered and build up the confidence to use all the different machines.

Fitness Room

The Virginia S. Tillett Community Center features a fitness room with state of the art equipment to help you get in shape or maintain a healthy fitness program.

Equipment is available for cardiovascular development, strength workouts and flexibility conditioning including:

  • Treadmills
  • Ellipticals
  • Recumbent Exercise Bike
  • NuStep T4
  • Assorted weights and benches
  • State of the art resistance equipment for a total fitness workout

Prior to utilizing the fitness room for the first time, you must attend an orientation session and sign a liability release. During the session, Fitness Staff will patiently explain the proper use of each piece of equipment along with operational guidelines.  Please call 475.9270 to schedule your orientation.
