Dare County Cooperative Extension offers educational programs and information on landscaping, soils, storm water management, erosion control, water quality, and pesticide education for a healthy, sustainable, productive and beautiful environment. The Cooperative Extension Master Gardener volunteer program helps individuals learn more about plants, soil nutrients, cultural practices and pest management. Completion of the program qualifies Master Gardener volunteers to serve the community by sharing their knowledge of lawns, gardens, shrubs and trees with fellow gardeners, school students and community groups. Dare County Cooperative Extension also provides information and soil sample collection materials for homeowners, commercial agriculture and landscaping. In addition, a Cooperative Extension horticultural agent can assist in identifying what may be wrong with your plant and offer constructive solutions.
