Menu4H & Youth Programs
Dare County 4-H provides opportunities for young people to have fun, learn life skills and serve their community. 4-H is committed to building outstanding citizen leaders with marketable skills to succeed in today’s global society. “Learn by Doing” is the theme of Dare County 4-H
4-H is the largest youth organization in the United States. It is identified by its green four-leaf clover with an “H” on each leaf. The 4-Hs on the emblem stand for "head," "heart," "hands" and "health." Programs are guided by North Carolina Cooperative Extension educators as well as adult and teenage volunteers.
All youth between the ages of 5 and 19 are invited to participate. 4-H offers club activities, special programs, trips, summer camps, school enrichment, after-school care and more. You will also learn to:
- Develop skills to make good career, health and life choices
- Serve the community by learning to give back to others
- Mature in self-discipline and responsibility
- Become independent thinkers
- Build lifelong friendships
There are no membership fees to join Dare County 4-H. Program expenses vary and are determined by the program.
More information about 4-H is available on the North Carolina Cooperative Extension website.
