Evacuation plans should include what evacuation route you will take, what vehicles you will use and where you will stay. When cell phone networks are overloaded, texts and social media posts are more unlikely to make it through. Designate a meeting area and a backup meeting location for your family. Make plans to check in with a designated family member or friend who lives in a different area. When local networks are jammed, long-distance calls may not go through.
