Join the National Wildlife Refuge System staff in an effort to pick up trash along Pea Island on the following dates:

Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 10 a.m.

Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10 a.m.

Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 10 a.m.

Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 10 a.m.

Meet at the Pea Island Visitors Center (14500 Hwy. NC 12).

Wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes, and work gloves; if you have them, bring a 5 gallon bucket and/or grabber. Refuge staff will give a quick safety talk, then send everyone onto the beaches to pick up trash where it's needed most. Wind or rain will cancel; call the refuge for updates.
