Beginner Shag Dance Lessons - (6 Week Series)  March 7, 2024 to April 11, 2024 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Established in 1990 to promote and preserve the heritage of beach music and shag dancing.

Join us to learn and dance your way into this special part of beach history with moves born in the sand!  The free beginner shag dance classes are designed to introduce the dance to the non-shagger - or to dancers who are somewhat familiar with the dance.  Carolina shag is the state dance of North and South Carolina.  Steps are similar to the East and West Coast Swing.  Each class builds on the previous class, so blocking off these six consecutive Thursdays is optimal but not necessary.  If you have questions, please contact Outer Banks Shag Club President, Michael Guida at 757-933-3657 or Instructor Al Douglass at 215-605-7312 or email President@OBXShagClub.com
