The Dare County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 9:00 A.M., or as soon thereafter as practicable, to receive comments on a proposed ordinance amendment to §91.056 Redemption; Adoption. The proposed ordinance amendment would amend the stray hold time from eight days to a minimum of 72 hours. The proposed revisions can be viewed online at www.darenc.gov or by contacting the Dare County Board of Commissioners Office. Any person can present comments at the hearing or may submit written comments by mail to the Dare County Board of Commissioners at P.O. Box 1000 Manteo, NC or by email to skyler.foley@darenc.gov. Following the close of the hearing, the Board may choose to act on the proposed amendment, may make revisions based on comments received at the hearing or during the subsequent discussion, or may choose to take no action.
