Caregiver's Day Out

Every Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Virginia Tillett Community Center.

Are you caring for someone with dementia? The Outer Banks Dementia Friendly Coalition and the Dare County Department of Health & Human Services have  a service that can help.

Caregivers' Day out offers hands-on activities for seniors with dementia that uses a unique combination of themes, music, games, exercises and snacks. Additionally, it offers primary caregiver support with a time to recharge. There is no charge for this program.

Trained volunteers host these events and facilitate the activities. Drop-off is every Thursday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center in Manteo (950 Marshall C. Collins Drive) beginning on January 19, 2023. An application must be completed before the program begins, and pick-up is no later than 1:00 pm.
