Vernon and Ralph Davis from Manteo built and raced boats from the 1930s to the 1960s. These Class E Service Runabouts held international, national and local championships as well as many High Point records.  Their names were well known up and down the East and Gulf Coasts of the United States yet, little is known about them at home. This presentation will introduce you to Vernon and Ralph and many of the boats they built in Manteo.

About our presenter 

Born and raised in Manteo, educated in North Carolina at Campbell University and East Carolina University and in Salisbury, Maryland at Salisbury State University. Ms. Parker taught Social Sciences in public schools and for over 17 years at the College of the Albemarle in both Elizabth City and Manteo.
