Lives of North Carolinians are significantly impacted by surface water,
groundwater, and climate. We are seldom farther than a few hundred yards
from a stream-or the ocean/sounds for those of us on the OBX.
Retired ECU Geology Professor Terri Woods reminds us that it is not enough to
live near bodies of surface water, it is necessary to live with them.
