The Board of Equalization and Review is a five member committee of Dare County citizens appointed by the Board of Commissioners.  The Board hears appeals from taxpayers concerning the listing or appraisal of real and personal property in the county.   

Appeals to the Dare County Board of Equalization and Review must be received by 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 20, 2021. At that time, the Board will adjourn for the purpose of accepting appeal requests. If you wish to appeal the assessed value of your property, please contact the Revaluation Department at darereval@darenc.com or (252) 475-5940. Your appeal will be heard at a later date.
