The Oregon Inlet Task Force will meet in Room 168.
The mission of Oregon Inlet Task Force is to advise the Dare County Board of Commissioners on the conditions of Oregon Inlet and the interior navigation channel running north to Wanchese Harbor. The Task Force is also responsible for overseeing the construction and future operations of the State Private Partnership dredge currently being built by EJE Dredging per session law 2018-5. The board is the liaison between Dare County and the Federal agencies that are involved in the continual maintenance of Oregon Inlet. The office and the Task Force lobbies for federal funding to accomplish this task, coordinates and attends meetings and briefings with state and federal appointees in Raleigh and Washington, DC, orients new State Department Secretaries, briefs appointees, and provides information on Commission activities, concerns, interests and legislative needs.
