Agenda
The mission of Dare County Waterways Commission is to advise the Dare County Board of Commissioners of the conditions of the Waterways and Inlets in Dare County. The Commission also monitors and recommends necessary action needed for channel conditions related to Oregon Inlet interior channels, county boat ramps, no wake zones and local dredging. The board is the liaison between Dare County and the Federal agencies that are involved in the continual maintenance of federal and local waterways. The office and this board lobbies for federal funding to accomplish this task, coordinates and attends meetings and briefings with state and federal appointees in Raleigh and Washington, DC; orients new State Department Secretaries, briefs appointees; provides information on Commission activities, concerns, interests and legislative needs.
