It is the mission of the Dare County Board of Elections to provide fair, open, honest and professionally managed election services to our community. The Board of Elections has the responsibility for safeguarding the will of the people, protecting democracy, and for establishing fairness and equity for all in the process of self-governance.

The Dare County Board of Elections ensures that elections are free, fair, accurate, convenient and accessible to all voters in Dare County. The Board of Elections is governed by a five-member board appointed by the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

Meetings

The Board of Elections meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM (unless otherwise posted). Meetings are held in the Dare County Board of Commissioners meeting room located at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo, NC. (unless otherwise posted)

You may email the Board Chair or the Director of Dare County Board of Elections with questions regarding monthly Board meetings.

Early voting for the 2020 General Election begins on October 15, 2020 at three locations:

Dare County Administration Building - 954 Marshall C. Collins Dr., Manteo, NC 27952
Kill Devil Hills Town Hall Commissioners Meeting Room, 102 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948
Cape Hatteras Secondary School Auditorium - 48576 NC Hwy. 12, Buxton, NC 27920

The sites are open weekdays from October 15, 2020 through October 30, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays, October 17 and 24 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The last day of early voting is Saturday, October 31 from 8:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m.
