It is the mission of the Dare County Board of Elections to provide fair, open, honest and professionally managed election services to our community. The Board of Elections has the responsibility for safeguarding the will of the people, protecting democracy, and for establishing fairness and equity for all in the process of self-governance.

The Dare County Board of Elections ensures that elections are free, fair, accurate, convenient and accessible to all voters in Dare County. The Board of Elections is governed by a five-member board appointed by the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

Meetings

The Board of Elections meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM (unless otherwise posted). Meetings are held in the Dare County Board of Commissioners meeting room located at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive, Manteo, NC. (unless otherwise posted)

You may email the Board Chair or the Director of Dare County Board of Elections with questions regarding monthly Board meetings.

One-Stop absentee voting begins on February 13, 2020 at:

Dare County Administration Building at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo
Kill Devil Hills Town Hall at 102 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills
Fessenen Center Annex at 47017 Buxton Back Road, Buxton

The sites are open weekdays beginning February 13 – February 29, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The sites are closed Saturdays with the exception of Saturday, February 29, when it they will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. for One-Stop absentee voting.
