It is the mission of the Dare County Board of Elections to provide fair, open, honest and professionally managed election services to our community. The Board of Elections has the responsibility for safeguarding the will of the people, protecting democracy, and for establishing fairness and equity for all in the process of self-governance. 

The Dare County Board of Elections ensures that elections are free, fair, accurate, convenient and accessible to all voters in Dare County. The Board of Elections is governed by a five-member board appointed by the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

Veterans Day - Dare County Offices Closed

  • Date: 11/11/2019 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM  

All Dare County Offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2019 in observance of Veterans Day.

The Dare County C&D Landfill, Manteo and Buxton Transfer Stations, the Manteo Recycle Yard and the Rodanthe Recycle Center will also be closed on Monday, November 11.

The trash collection schedule for the week of November 11-15,2019 will be as follows:

Monday, November 11 - CLOSED, NO TRASH COLLECTION 

Tuesday, November 12 - Kitty Hawk, Colington, Frisco, Buxton, and Hatteras 

Wednesday, November 13 - Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon 

Thursday, November 14 - Kitty Hawk, Colington, Frisco, Buxton, and Hatteras 

Friday, November 15 - Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Avon 

Commercial pick up of dumpsters will be Tuesday, November 12 and Friday, November 15.
