It is the mission of the Dare County Board of Elections to provide fair, open, honest and professionally managed election services to our community. The Board of Elections has the responsibility for safeguarding the will of the people, protecting democracy, and for establishing fairness and equity for all in the process of self-governance. 

The Dare County Board of Elections ensures that elections are free, fair, accurate, convenient and accessible to all voters in Dare County. The Board of Elections is governed by a five-member board appointed by the North Carolina State Board of Elections.

Early Voting Municipal Election

  • Date: 10/28/2019 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM  

One-Stop absentee voting begins on October 16, 2019 at the Dare County Administration Building at 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo.  The site is open weekdays beginning October 16, 2019 – November 1, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This site is closed Saturdays with the exception of the October 19, when it will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for One-Stop absentee voting.

An additional One-Stop voting site will be located in the Kill Devil Hills Town Hall at 102 Town Hall Drive, Kill Devil Hills,  weekdays beginning October 16,  2019– November 1, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This site is closed Saturdays with the exception of the October 19, when it will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for One-Stop absentee voting.
