Absentee ballots to voters who have requested ballots by mail, including those who use the Visually Impaired Portal (VIP) will begin to be mailed out on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, under a new schedule released by the NC State Board of Elections..

Absentee ballots to eligible military and overseas citizens who requested them for the 2024 general election will go out on Friday, September 20, 2024, under a new schedule released by the NC State Board of Elections.

November 3, 2020 General Election

  • Date: 10/30/2019 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM  

One-Stop absentee voting begins on October 15, 2020 at the Dare County Administration Building, 954 Marshall C. Collins Drive in Manteo,  the Kill Devil Hills Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive in Kill Devil Hills NC and at the Cape Hatteras Secondary School 48576 NC Hwy 12 Buxton NC.  The sites will be open weekdays beginning October 15 – October 31, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Saturday hours will be available on October 17, 2020 and October 24, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  and on October 31, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
