NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE DARE COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW

Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 105-322 the Dare County Board of Equalization and Review will meet as required by law.

PURPOSE OF MEETING
To hear upon request, any taxpayer who owns or controls property taxable in Dare County with respect to the year 2018 listing or appraisal of their property or property of others; and to fulfill other duties and responsibilities required by law.

The Board will convene for the purpose of accepting appeal requests and fulfilling other duties on
Thursday, April 5, 2018.

TIME OF MEETING
The Board will meet to hear appeal requests on
Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.

The Board will adjourn for the purpose of accepting appeal requests at the close of its meeting on
Thursday, April 19, 2018.

The meeting will be held at the
Dare County Administrative Building, Room 238
954 Marshall Collins Drive, Manteo, NC

Hearings with the Board are by appointment or personal appearance only.
Requests for hearings must be received prior to the Board’s adjournment.

Appellants need not be present to have an appeal heard, however, all appeals will
need adequate evidence to prove the current assessment is incorrect as of
January 1, 2013, the effective date of the most recent countywide revaluation; or if personal property,
prove the current assessment is incorrect as of January 1, 2018.
n the event of earlier or later adjournment, notice to this effect will be published in this newspaper.

If additional meetings are scheduled for the hearing of appeals timely filed,
dates will be posted on the Dare County website at www.darenc.com, and at the office of the
Assessor, serving as the Clerk to the Board of Equalization and Review,
and will also be provided to individuals and organizations that have requested notice.
