Absentee ballots to voters who have requested ballots by mail, including those who use the Visually Impaired Portal (VIP) will begin to be mailed out on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, under a new schedule released by the NC State Board of Elections..

Absentee ballots to eligible military and overseas citizens who requested them for the 2024 general election will go out on Friday, September 20, 2024, under a new schedule released by the NC State Board of Elections.

Dare County Offices Closed

  • Date: 11/10/2017 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM  

Dare County offices are closed on Friday, November 10 in observance of Veterans Day. 

The Dare County Transfer Stations in Manns Harbor and in Buxton, the C&D Landfill, and the Recycle Center located on Driftwood Dr, Manteo will be closed on Friday, November 10, 2017, in observance of Veterans Day.

The trash collection for the week of November 5th through November 11th will be as follows:

Monday— Kitty Hawk, Colington, Frisco, Buxton, and Hatteras

Tuesday— Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon

Wednesday— Kitty Hawk, Colington, Frisco, Buxton, and Hatteras

Thursday— Manteo, Wanchese, Manns Harbor, East Lake, Stumpy Point, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo and Avon

Friday— CLOSED  No trash collection
