Operation Green Light is a National Association of Counties initiative that encourages residents and businesses to show their support to local veterans by shining green lights throughout their communities to let local veterans know they are seen, appreciated and supported.

An array of Dare County government buildings will be illuminated with green lighting in honor of our local veterans from November 4, 2024 through November 11, 2024—which coincides with Veterans Day—as a symbol of appreciation and support for the veterans who have so selflessly served our nation.

We encourage residents and business owners to join in and recognize the importance of honoring all who made immeasurable sacrifices to preserve our freedom by displaying green lights at their place of business or their residence from November 4, 2024 through November 11, 2024.

Join us during Operation Green Light by changing one light bulb in the entryway of your house or business to a green bulb!

If you would like your business or home to be featured in a presentation for veterans on November 14, 2024 at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center, please take a photo of your house or business lit in green and send it to DareCountyPR@DareNC.gov.
